The Struggle Standard LLC ("we") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit thestrugglestandard.com or app.thestrugglestandard.com, subscribe to our mailing list, purchase a program, or participate in The Struggle Standard Test — how we use it, and the choices you have.
01Information We Collect
1.1 — Information you give us
- Name and email address (newsletter signup, account creation, Test registration).
- Billing information processed by our payment processor — we do not store full payment card details on our servers.
- Training data you choose to submit (Test scores, video submissions, body weight, lifts). Scores and videos you post to the public leaderboard are displayed publicly — see the Public Leaderboard section below.
- Communications you send us by email or through platform chats.
1.2 — Information collected automatically
- Standard log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, timestamps).
- Cookies and similar technologies used for analytics, site functionality, and advertising measurement.
- Advertising and measurement data collected by the Meta pixel — see the Advertising & the Meta Pixel section below.
1.3 — Information from third parties
- Order and access data from TrainHeroic when you purchase or join a team.
- Email engagement data from MailerLite (opens, clicks, unsubscribes).
- Aggregated advertising performance and audience data from Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram).
- Aggregated analytics from website analytics providers.
02How We Use Your Information
- To deliver programs you have purchased and provide access to TrainHeroic teams.
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, access instructions, important updates).
- To send marketing emails about new programs, the annual Test, and brand content — only if you have opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time.
- To measure how our advertising performs, and — where you consent — to show you our ads on Meta platforms and to build audiences of people with similar interests.
- To improve our programs, website, and customer experience.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
03Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on the following bases: performance of a contract (delivering programs you bought), consent (marketing emails, optional cookies, and advertising and measurement technologies including the Meta pixel), legitimate interests (analytics, fraud prevention, product improvement), and legal obligations (tax and accounting).
04Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate on our behalf (payment processors, TrainHeroic, MailerLite, hosting, analytics) under appropriate data-handling agreements.
- Meta Platforms, Inc., for advertising measurement and — where you consent — audience building and ad delivery, as described in the Advertising & the Meta Pixel section below.
- Law enforcement or other authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
- A successor entity in the event of a sale, merger, or business transition, subject to this Policy.
05Public Leaderboard & Athlete Profiles
The Struggle Standard Test includes public leaderboards (including the monthly boards and the annual standings) and public athlete profiles. Appearing on them is optional: information is made public only when you choose to post a result. If you complete the Test without posting, none of the information described below is published.
When you post, the following becomes visible to anyone — including visitors who do not have an account:
- The display name you choose for the leaderboard (you can change it at any time).
- Your Test score and the tier it earns.
- Your crew or department and your division, if you choose to provide them.
- Any proof video you submit for ELITE verification, which may be linked publicly once submitted or verified.
Your account email, your billing details, and anything you do not post to the leaderboard are never shown publicly. Because your display name is searchable, do not choose a name — or submit a video — that you are not comfortable making public. You can ask us to remove your entry from the leaderboard at any time by emailing sufferforward@thestrugglestandard.com (see Your Rights below).
06Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies for site functionality, analytics, and — where you consent — advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not function correctly. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where technically feasible.
07Advertising & the Meta Pixel
We use the Meta pixel, a piece of code provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., on thestrugglestandard.com and app.thestrugglestandard.com. It helps us understand whether our advertising is reaching the right people and working.
When the pixel is active, it may collect and send to Meta:
- The pages you visit on our sites and when you visited them.
- Certain actions you take — for example creating an account or submitting a Test score — recorded as standard events without the content of what you submitted.
- Your IP address, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers Meta uses to recognize a browser.
- Whether you arrived from one of our ads.
7.1 — What we use it for
- Measurement. Counting how many people who saw an ad went on to take the Test or download a free cycle.
- Audiences. Building groups of people who have visited our sites, so we can show them relevant ads later, and asking Meta to find new people with similar characteristics.
- Retargeting. Showing our ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who visited but did not complete an action.
We do not upload your training data, your Test scores, or the contents of your submissions to Meta. Meta processes this information under its own terms and its own data policy, which you can read at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
7.2 — How to turn it off
- Adjust your ad preferences directly with Meta at facebook.com/settings?tab=ads, including Off-Facebook Activity.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use a browser or extension that blocks tracking scripts.
- Enable Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honor it where technically feasible.
- Opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info.
- Email us at sufferforward@thestrugglestandard.com and we will action your request.
Turning the pixel off does not stop you from using the site, taking the Test, or receiving anything you have purchased. It only affects advertising and measurement.
08Data Retention
We keep your information as long as needed to deliver the programs you have purchased, comply with legal obligations (such as tax records — typically seven years in the U.S.), and resolve disputes. Email marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe. Advertising audiences built from site activity expire on a rolling basis, typically within 180 days of your last visit.
09Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.
- Opt out of cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of the Meta pixel for advertising audiences and retargeting may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out using any of the methods in the Advertising & the Meta Pixel section above, or by emailing sufferforward@thestrugglestandard.com with the subject line "Do Not Share My Personal Information."
10Children
Our programs are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will delete it.
11Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No transmission over the internet is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately.
12International Transfers
We operate in the United States. If you access our site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
13Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email or site notice. The August 29, 2026 revision added the Advertising & the Meta Pixel section and clarified our position on "sharing" under the CPRA.
